 How is corduroy fabric made?

Corduroy is a durable, ridged fabric that textile producers can make with a variety of different materials. This fabric is most notable for its unique ridged pattern, which corduroy producers can weave in a variety of widths.

1. Weaving
Most types of corduroy fabric feature plain weaves. Once the primary weave is complete, textile manufacturers add a “pile thread”.

2.Gluing
Glue is applied to the back of the woven fabric to ensure that the pile yarn does not pull through during the cutting process.

3. Cutting of pile yarn
Textile manufacturers then use an industrial cutter to sever the pile yarn. This yam is then brushed and singed to produce soft, uniform ridges.

4. Dyeing
Textile manufacturers pigment-dye completed corduroy fabric. The pattern produced becomes more accentuated as it is washed.

Advantage VS Disadvantage

1. The corduroy fabric has full velvet, has a good three-dimensional effect, fine velvet and soft hand, it is a natural fabric.

2. Needless to say the warmth retention of corduroy, the fabric itself is easy to dye, so it will be more convenient in production and processing.

3. The corduroy washing method is simple but pay attention to the water temperature. If the water temperature is too high, the fabric will shrink.

1. Corduroy fabrics are prone to sticky hair and are difficult to handle, so it is best to face out when drying clothes.

2. There is also the shrinkage mentioned above, avoid washing in water with too high temperature.
